Yard Sale Success!

Wow!  What an amazing day!  We worked our behinds off, sweated in the humidity, sorted through an ocean of donated clothes but it was so much fun and worth every minute.  I only hope my fellow volunteers agree.

We didn't sell but a fraction of what we had, yet we still raised. . . 

over $700 to put toward the new house!!! 

A special thanks to the Rideout family who let us use their yard.  Bret Rideout of Rideout Repairs donated his time on what would otherwise be a workday for him.  He paid his employees to help us with the heavy lifting.  A very special young man named Dylan stayed with us all day and ended up donating his days wages to our project.  I was blown away.

Bret's wife Jamie worked from sunup to sun down, all while juggling her three kids and a broken toe.  Somehow we still managed to squeeze in a laughing fit that brought tears.

Thanks also to Christi, Jamie L, Leslie, Stephani and Whitney who were so generous with their time and resources that day.  They truly blessed me with their tireless work and giving spirits.  There are too many donors to mention all by name but you know who you are and we appreciate you!  So many folks went into making the day a success.

Attention Frugalistas, Pickers and Rumagers!  (OK, Hoarders, too). 


Sylvan Park is having their annual community yard sale and we will be on the route.  This is such a walkable and family friendly neighborhood and this Saturday, May 18th, you will be able to find great deals as well as just rummaging nosily through people's stuff.

We will be at 4005 Utah Ave from 7:00-2:00.  We are a multi family sale with lots of kids stuff.  We will be there rain or shine and I know all you hard core yard salers will come prepared.  


Among the myriad of good finds you will find BOOKS GALORE!  ALL NEW and PRICED to SELL!  Kids books, history books, cookbooks, educational, sets and so much more. Summer reading for you and your kids?  Father's Day gifts?  We got ya covered!

When you stop by, make sure to get yourself a homemade goodie.  Rumor has it that our very own Cheapskate Cook will be bringing her famous homemade bread.  Delish!  She can be found at http://thecheapskatecook.com/

What a great way to enjoy a laid back saturday morning.  I mean, I find people watching interesting, but this is even a notch above that.  People, stuff and baked goods!  



Just as before, all proceeds from our sale will go directly to our project, A House for Jennifer Rose.  Donations welcome.  

All remaining items will be donated to a local charity at the end of the sale.
